Dogs really are the best in the world.
And the events of last night just prove it again.
While out walking his dog in the Portarlington area, an elderly man fell into a ditch and found himself in difficulty as he couldn’t get out.
When the Gardaí arrived at the scene, the elderly man’s dog, Jack, provided the Gardaí with the man’s exact location, assisting them in finding and helping his owner as quickly as they could.
The Gardaí then revealed that Jack the dog stayed with them the entire time, keeping a watchful eye on his owner and not leaving the ambulance’s side.
Sharing an image, the guards praised Jack calling him the definition of a “man’s best friend”.
Man’s best friend.

What a hero.
Others then took to the comments to ask for Jack’s address to send him treats and also, to share stories of fellow super dogs – my heart cannot take this.
