This is absolutely horrifying.
A Labour senator from Galway has been subjected to horrific abuse this week and has taken to Twitter to share the messages.
Senator Lorraine Higgins has been the victim of a number of abusive and angry messages and shared a sample of them to her followers on Twitter to show what she has been going through.

Ms. Higgins had previously spoken out about abusive messages and death threats and has had to report threats to the Gardaí in the past.
She took to Twitter once more on Tuesday morning to thank people for their support since she made the messages public.
