A survey conducted by dating site Clover has found that cheap and cheerful is best when it comes to first dates - so save the stilettos for later.
The app recently launched a new "On-Demand" feature, which allows users to specify the type of person they want to meet, choose a place and a time, and then the app will introduce you to people who want to meet you.
Data from 500,000 UK users was collected in order to determine the most popular first-date location, and the Portuguese chicken haven came out on top.
Surprisingly, Costa Coffee came in second place, followed closely by Starbucks.
Speaking about the results, CEO of Clover Isaac Raichyk said: “We were surprised to see most people choosing to meet at coffee shops and casual restaurants for their first date.
“We expected fine dining, bars and nightclubs to rank much higher, but clearly people want to meet in a relaxed environment.
"Men seem more willing to commit to a first meeting over dinner at a restaurant vs women who prefer being able to screen dates quickly over coffee.”
Well, we didn't need a survey to tell us chicken on the bone is the way to our hearts.Life
