Festival Fever: The Listowel Harvest Festival Is Almost Here

THE LISTOWEL HARVEST FESTIVAL

When it comes to festivals nobody does it better than the people of Kerry. For seven spectacular days in September the town of Listowel plays host to the famous annual racing festival along with the traditional Harvest Festival which means you’ll get to enjoy two great events for the price of one!

 

As well as marking the end of the Flat racing season, Listowel racecourse will also be celebrating 155 years in existence. Organisers are expecting a huge turnout this year although it’s not surprising what with the fabulous mix of racing, fashion and unbeatable entertainment the event offers.

 

The standard of racing in Listowel might be high but the fashion stakes are equally so. With a prize fund worth over €9,000 to be won at the Chic Boutique Ladies Day on Friday September 20th it certainly merits pulling out all the stops with your wardrobe.

Judging the event this time around is none other than RTE’s Daithi O Sé and style-icon Celia Holman-Lee. And it’s not just the ladies that will be expected to go that extra mile in the style stakes. Men will also have the perfect excuse to get dressed up on Thursday September 19th for the Moriarty’s Best Dressed Man competition.

 

And the fun doesn’t end there. More often than not, the lively atmosphere at Listowel races spills out onto the streets after the racing is over. The town becomes a hive of activity with street entertainment, busking competitions, music and dancing.
