There are a few things associated with the month of January: new year’s resolutions, a severe lack of cash and sickness. Yes, January is the one time of year when literally everyone (and their Granny) is harbouring some kind of head cold/flu-type-thing.
Now, we know that you definitely don’t feel sexy when you’re full of snot but there are plenty of ways to keep an air of romance about the place when the two of you are sick.
If you and your man are currently suffering from a bad case of the sniffles, here are some ideas that will hopefully help you both to stave off the boredom of being cooped up inside and to feel a bit better.
The weather is absolutely miserable, so how’s about the two of you put on your jammies, wrap up warm and make a hot drink? We promise you’ll be feeling more human in no time!

Have a movie night: In order to really feel the medicinal benefits of a movie night, it’s essential that you cover yourselves with the warmest blanket you can find, whack the heating on full blast and just completely dedicate yourself to some serious relaxation. Maybe you could watch a comedy to get you laughing or a horror that will hopefully scare the sickness out of you? Either way, cuddle up, relax and try to enjoy your downtime with your man as much as you can (we know this will be hard when you’re sneezing every five seconds, but try anyway!)
Make soup: Yes, we know that getting your cook on is probably the last thing you feel like doing when you’re sick, but hear us out. Soup is one of the easiest things in the world to make and honestly? When you have a bad dose on you, it’s a super comforting thing to eat. It’ll warm you right up and instantly make you feel better. Enlist the help of your man in the kitchen and make a huge batch of vegetable soup. Then enjoy it together.
There’s nothing worse than being sick…
Have a bubble bath: If your bathtub is big enough, you can invite him in to join you. There’s nothing more soothing than a nice soak in a hot bath. Fill it full of Radox to help you get rid of any muscle aches and pains and just relax. Instant comfort guaranteed.
Get conversational: Get the fire going, turn down the lights and dot a few candles around the room. Cuddle up on the sofa with your man and spend the evening having a conversation. Surround yourselves with feel-good foods, maybe play some soft music and have a few laughs together. Emotional intimacy is one of the quickest ways to give your feelings a much-needed boost.
