Whether it’s a late night spent studying, a night on the tiles, or maybe just boredom between lectures, we’ve often fantasized about taking a nap in college.
Students will be spoiled for choice at the University of East Anglia, with their new ‘Nap Nook’ – a sleep space dedicated on campus to allowing students 40 minutes of rest between the hours of 12pm and 6pm.
The UEA Student Union said they hoped the introduction of sleeping slots will make students realise that sleep is not a luxury, and crucial to being a successful student.
Decked out with bean bags, blackout curtains, sofa beds and eye masks, the nap nook means students will be equipped for the best night’s sleep possible.
For anyone who hopes to use the nap nook for some nookie, the union have warned students they’ll face being banned from using the facilities at all.

Speaking to media about the new venture, Community and Diversity Officer Holly Staynor said:
“The costs of not getting sleep right are huge. Boffins have worked out that it’s the main cause of poor mood, high stress and risk of depression. It means weight again, a poor immune system and a risk of heart disease.
“But the good news is that the boffins have also worked out that by making some changes to sleep- getting more and better sleep at night, and taking naps when needed in the day, we can have massive positive impacts. We’re talking better alertness, huge increases in memory capacity, and ultimately scientific proof that we get better grades.”
Between nap rooms and puppy playdates to relieve stress, we’re seriously considering going back to college…
