For a quick health and beauty boost, have an avocado!
I love avocados, and if I fancy injecting some healthy goodness to my weekly diet I know this is one food option that is definitely worth enjoying.
Tasty, satisfying and packed with vitamin and mineral goodness, avocados are an excellent source of energy and they’re also high in fibre.
You can have it solo as an accompaniment to any meal, and of course it can be used in salads, wraps, pizzas, sandwiches and even smoothies.
If you, too, fancy a healthy addition to your mid-week meals, avocado really is the perfect food. It helps boost your body’s health in so many ways:
- Avocado promotes good heart health, as it’s rich in Omega 3.
- Avocado also contains magnesium, which aids calcium absorption and can also help prevent the muscle spasms that can cause asthma attacks.
- You’ll find potassium in there too, which helps control metabolism and also helps to regulate blood pressure.
- The fat in an avocado is monounsaturated fat, so our bodies use up that good energy instead of opting for unhealthy saturated fats with little nutritional value.
- Avocados also promote good eye health as a source of carotenoids, which produce vitamin A in the body – essential to keeping our eyes healthy.
- Avocados provide protein, in a form that is much easier to digest than the form found in red meats.
- They are also a good source of iron, which is good for your blood.
- Avocados also contain Vitamin B, an important brain food that is also great for healthy skin, hair and nails, and Vitamin E to help keep us young – that alone is a good enough reason for me to stock up on them!
So if it’s good skin, hair, body and mind you’re after – grab an avocado, enjoy, and take advantage of its many health benefits and wellness properties!
