Let’s just say, we can hear our own father in these words.
When Nigel Stewart-Stone was tasked with selling his 19-year old son Dalton’s car, he couldn’t help but ask “who would buy it?”
Taking to eBay, Nigel apologises in the description of the Renault Clio, saying it’s full of litter and has dents in it where his son used the car to climb into the house.
An added selling point for any parents of teenage boys?
It’ll make a perfect gift as ‘it will save them all the time and effort that my son has put in to it, getting it this way’.
So what other ‘feautres’ might a prospective buyer expect?
Well apparently the passenger seat doesn’t move back-and-forth anymore as‘[too] many [girls]… have been taken for rides in the car’.
There’s also the small fact that Dalton never washed, changed the oil or cleaned out his car… once.
19-year old Dalton is done with his Clio now that he’s started working, although his father promises that the new car will soon end up in a similar state.
Despite the honest (and hilarious) ad pointing to a fair few flaws – have we mentioned the broken door handle and holes in the furnishings – Nigel has been surprised by the number of bids, which now sees the car at £101 with five more days to make a winning bid.
Signing off on the ad, Nigel names himself as a ‘devoted father with much patience’ and says the car has ‘absolutely no warranty’.
This is hilarious. And we’ve a feeling our dad might have had the same speech prepared for our first car…
