“We would like to get to know them and be a part of our family.”

The #ManOnTheMoon touched a lot of people last week.

The story had over 20,000 shares on our site alone and even inspired a personal editorial on the other side of Christmas.

Now, one family have decided to take drastic action from the ad and to make a positive change in the life of a lonely elderly person in their area.

Ceri Camilleri was so moved by the advert that she decided she wanted to offer her family home to someone isolated and in need of a family for the festive season.

Placing an ad on Gumtree, the 25-year old said her family want to offer a lonely person a warm home, Christmas dinner with her family around the dinner table and some company for one of the loneliest times of the year.

Posting a photo of her family, she wanted to give the potential house guest the chance to meet her daughter Maddison, partner Jack, mother Amanda and brother Richard.

Explaining her decision to open up her home to a stranger, Ceri told Metro UK:

“I was in tears when I saw the ad on the telly and it really made me think.

“I would love to give a lonely soul some company on Christmas Day with a traditional dinner and all the trimmings.”

The only requirements Ceri has is that the guest be over 65 years old, in the Cardiff area and obviously be available on December 25th.

It’s not just a one day deal either, the big-hearted mum said:

“We would like to get to know them and be a part of our family.

“Hopefully they will enjoy things that seem normal to us on Christmas Day that they might not get at home.”
