Facebook Announces One Billion Users… That’s a LOT of Stalking and Embarassing Photos

The social media site might not be doing too well with their shares but their user count has reached a billion. We'd like to give ourselves a pat on the back for helping to contribute to this achievement!

Have you stalked your ex online lately? Or perhaps you sneaked a peek at someone you used to dislike in school? Well if you’re not doing it, someone certainly is!

As Facebook bosses have revealed that they are celebrating having over a billion people on the social media site.

That translates as over a trillion ‘likes’, almost 150 billion connected people and over 200 billion photos. That’s a hell of a lot: ‘Oh dear, so that’s what I looked like last night?”

Are you one of the billion people using Facebook?

Speaking about the milestone, founder Mark Zuckerberg said: “Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling.” We would think that the millions he has in the bank are also pretty amazing!

Despite one in seven people now using Facebook, the company’s shares have continued to fall putting pressure on Zuckerberg and co to create new ways of increasing revenue on the site.

According to the Irish Independent a recent study also found that some 83 million Facebook accounts are fake.

Perhaps those are for all the people who claim not to stalk their exes and former foes!
