Social media is fantastic, it connects you with people all over the world, some you’ve known already, others you haven’t…
But it can also get you in trouble. Our need to tweet/ Facebook/ Pin/ YouTube everything we do throughout the day can have a few people, including our employers, wondering what we do with our time.
And what if you take it a step too far? A rush of anger or frustration can have you venting online about your workplace, colleagues or boss.
Here come the words…
Hey, there’s an app for that!
Brand new app on the market FireMe! has been created by Ricardo Kawase and his team at the University of Hannover, Germany.
The app tracks certain negative phrases about bosses and jobs and rates how likely they are to get the poster fired, according to website Mashable.

The app flags the negative phrase and automatically tweets the said tweeter, warning them that their tweet could get them in a spot of trouble.
The tweeter is also sent a link to their FireMeter! score, a percentage that shows them how likely they might be to get fired. It’s based on the negativity towards their job and how often they’d cursed in the last 100 tweets. It’s just like having a Twitter babysitter for adults, really.
Finally, the person is offered the option to delete the bold tweet.
The team of creators found that those who slam their jobs tend to tweet more than others and also had less followers than those who shared positive thoughts about their workplace.
