‘I don’t think I’ll have it again’: Joanne Larby on cosmetic surgery regret

"You do tend to obsess with the things that are wrong with you."

She's one of the country's most successful social influencers, but Joanne Larby has admitted that the pressure of her online image got to her. Known on social media as The Makeup Fairy, she opened up to her Snapchat followers about her cosmetic procedures.

"The only thing I’ve ever had done is lip filler and I haven’t had it in over a year and I don’t think I’ll ever have it again," she said. "It’s something that, in ways, I regret because I like being natural. But I guess it’s a part of the game, being online and talking about body image and changing your body dramatically. "You do tend to obsess with the things that are wrong with you."

Joanne, who was once a plus-size model, dropped from a size 16 to a size 10 in recent years and is now in training for a bikini competition, reports the Irish Independent.

In an Instagram post yesterday, she told her followers that she's not as self-assured as she might appear.

"Self confidence. You would think from my social media accounts that I have it in buckets right? Wrong," she wrote. "Lately I've been experiencing a severe lack in self confidence; I've been doubting myself and my capabilities, picking at aesthetics flaws constantly and letting exterior situations determine how I feel in my own skin. "Some days I'll wake up and think I look nice while others I'll hold onto every negative thing said about me online or in person and remind myself I'm not 'enough'."
