This week, Donald Trump said that all Muslims in the US should be placed under increased surveillance to “learn about the enemy”.
During the interview with Yahoo News, the Republican presidential candidate also suggested it would make sense to close down mosques in the US, which are ‘hotbeds’ of terrorist activity.
In a series of horrendous remarks and ignorance, Trump said he ‘remained open’ to the idea of registering US citizens who practice Islam on a database, making it a legal requirement that they would have to carry a special ID card:
“We’re going to have to do things that we never did before. Some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule.”
Rather than be upset by the insensitive and Nazi-like comments, one US Muslim citizen tweeted the perfect response to the proposed rules.
Tayyib Rashab, an American Muslim marine, tweeted a picture of his official ID, writing:
Hey @realDonaldTrump, I’m an American Muslim and I already carry a special ID badge. Where’s yours? #SemperFi #USMC pic.twitter.com/QSf2O9PTi2

Joining in the twitter campaign, other American Muslims proudly showed their real identity – not one Trump outlined for them:
Hey @realDonaldTrump here’s my #MuslimID I take care of your sick, regardless of race, religion or creed. pic.twitter.com/V0Y62tsMLl
