What would you find if you went through the history on your boyfriend’s computer? You might be expecting sports results, a sneaky bit of online porn but how shocked would you be if you found a slew of celebrity gossip websites?
According to a new study, our male counterparts may be just as clued up on the latest Kardashian news as we are, believe it or not.
The study, which was commissioned by Siteopia.com, found that men spend more time per week surfing the internet than women. And while we mostly use the internet to browse social networking websites and shop, men are more interested in porn, sport, news and celebrity gossip.
More than half of the men who were questioned as part of the survey admitted that they could be “addicted” to the internet and six in ten confessed that they now need the internet in order to function in their day-to-day life.
And while men are hiding their secret celebrity gossip addiction, they’re also hiding other websites that they access. A fifth of men admitted that they delete their browsing history each day just in case someone sees that they’ve visited a port website and 45 per cent of men said they would panic if their mother caught a glimpse of their browsing history.

“The results showed men to be the biggest internet users, pending more time reading the news and showing a much bigger tendency for gaming online,” said a spokesman for Siteopia.com.
“It’s interesting to see men now consume as much celebrity news as women, while there were also clear patterns between different forms of social media, with women the bigger Facebook users while men devoted more time to Twitter on average,” the spokesman added.
