We can only assume the presenters could see it coming…
Controversial nightly phone-in programme ‘Psychic Readings Live’ will enjoy its last airing on TV3 tonight.
In a statement, TV3 said that standard scheduled programming would replace the two-hour commercial show, which began its run in June of this year.
During the show, a guilty pleasure for many Irish insomniacs, viewers are invited to call in and communicate with a team of ‘in-studio psychics’, for the bargain price, ahem, of €2.44 per minute.
Her future’s not looking so good, in TV at least…
According to The Irish Times, a total of seven complaints to The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland to date have been upheld against the show and ten more have yet to be processed.
The show has been controversial since its inception, with producers accused of using stock photos to depict the ‘resident psychics’ and multiple hoax calls being aired – most notably a discussion with a certain Fresh Prince.
RIP Psychic Readings Live, it’s moments like this we’ll miss the most.
