Dad Overhears Son Planning To Come Out… And This Was His Reaction

Coming out is not easy.

Sad as it is to still say that in 2013, it’s still the case that so many men and women struggle to tell those near and dear to them they are attracted to members of the same sex.

For one young man, however, the big conversation with his father was deemed unnecessary. Nate’s father had overheard him speaking on the phone, talking about his plan to tell his parents he was gay. Nate’s father left him this note before the planned conversation could ever take place.

It reads:

 

Nate, 

I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me and the only thing I need you to plan is to bring home OJ and bread after class.

We are out, like you now. 

I’ve known you were gay since you were six and I’ve loved you since you were born.

DAD

P.S. Your mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple
