Create a Cool Outdoor Living Space with Top Tips from Cuprinol

The good weather has finally arrived and it’s time to get that garden in shape! 

Last weekend’s Bloom in the Park may have inspired you to create that outdoor space you love a little closer to home, be it updating the decking or something as simple as painting the planters, but you might be a little unsure where to start.

There is now an abundance of great colours available for garden wood, which can easily turn your garden into a cool outdoor living space. Better still, it is a really inexpensive and easy way to transform your garden. So, we’ve got some top tips from the garden wood experts at Cuprinol on how to tackle the job on a nice sunny day!

Tops tips from the Cuprinol garden wood experts to tackle sheds, planters, fences, gazebos include … 

• Ensure all surfaces are wiped down and are dry and free from dirt.
• Remove any algae, lichen, fungi or other horrible stuff using an appropriate fungicidal wash. Wood previously stained, painted or varnished should be stripped back to bare wood.
• Any bare or untreated wood should be pretreated with an appropriate wood preserver to prevent rot and decay.
• Stir paint thoroughly, before and during use. Brush on product, evenly, along the grain.
• Try a test area first to ensure that colour and adhesion are acceptable. Colour testers are available to assist in your colour choice. Wait for Cuprinol to dry to ensure you are happy with colour.
• How long to dry:  Cuprinol Garden Shades will be touch dry in 1 hour. Where a second coat is required, allow up to 8 hours in between coats.
