Corrie’s Jane Danson opens up about miscarriage before pregnancy storyline

She said "it's very difficult" to keep being asked about her current story line.

Fans of Coronation Street will know that Jane's character Leanne Battersby is currently pregnant on the show with Steve's baby. However, with such a story line comes a lot of talk of babies and questions about the character being pregnant. The actress herself has been asked personal questions about children, such as whether she wishes to have more,  because of the story line. This may be difficult for Jane as she recently revealed that she suffered a miscarriage a few years ago.

"I kind of feel in a good place to say it, but I actually did lose a baby a couple of years ago, so it does make me quite sad," She told Digital Spy. ‘'I’ve been asked the inevitable questions over and over, ‘would you have another baby?’ and I just feel now it’s a good time to say that it is close to my heart but it’s Leanne going through it, not me,’'she added.

Jane has two sons, Harry and Sam, with husband Robert Beck. She added that"it's very difficult" to keep being asked the same question when you've suffered a loss yourself.

‘It’s fine because I’ve never talked about it,’ she said. ‘'But I just feel that now it’s a good time to say that it’s something that Leanne has always wanted and I know how that feels but I’m very lucky.’'
