Cooking, County Councils and Comedy : The Best of Tonight’s TV

From a group of chefs hoping to prove their worth to the President of the United States, there’s plenty to watch on the small screen tonight. MasterChef: The Professionals – BBC Two (8.30pm) Eight more chefs enter the kitchen where they are challenged to make a dish using the seven ingredients provided for them.   Ripper Street – BBC One (9.00pm) This week a prominent member of London County Council is abducted forcing Drake to come face to face with the woman who broke his heart.   Republic of Telly – RTÉ Two (9.30pm) Kevin McGahern, Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O’Shea are back with their topical comedy show which features some unusual guest appearances.   Fresh Meat – Channel 4 (10.00pm) Kingsley decides to date both Heather and Josie while Vod attempts to get rid of her summer fling and JP moves in on the girl Howard has his heart set on. JFK – RTÉ One (11.15pm) This documentary offers an insight into the life of the former US President.
