We are loving the new Avonmore Fresh Dessert Cream. Thicker than fresh cream, but with a lower fat content, there’s no whipping involved so it’s as simple as open, and pour.
So, we had a think about our favourite desserts, and what would go well with this new tasty treat. First up: gooey chocolate orange brownies. Delicious!
Ingredients
- 250g of Avonmore butter
- 250g of good quality dark chocolate (60 or 70% cocoa solids)
- Four large eggs
- 90g of cocoa powder such as Bourneville
- 70g of plain flour
- 1tsp of baking powder
- 350g of castor sugar
- Zest of one large orange
- Avonmore Fresh Dessert Cream
Method
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius or Gas Mark Four. Line a 25cm baking tin with greaseproof paper.
- Bring a saucepan of water to the boil before placing a Pyrex bowl over the simmering water. The bottom of the bowl should not be touching the water.
- Melt together the butter and the chocolate in the bowl and remove from the heat. Add the orange zest to the mixture.
- Sieve all of the dry ingredients (cocoa powder, sugar, flour and baking powder) into a separate bowl and before adding them to the chocolate and butter mixture.
- Stir well before beating in your eggs (one at a time) until smooth.
- Next, pour your mixture into your prepared baking tray and bake for around thirty minutes.
- The brownies should be springy to touch and gooey on the inside.
- Allow the brownies cool slighty in the tray before cutting into squares.
- Pour Avonmore Fresh Dessert Cream over, and enjoy!
