This is just lovely.
The Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dogs have travelled to Orlando to offer “encouragement and hope” in the wake of the nightclub massacre where at least 50 people lost their lives.
According to ABC News, twelve dogs and 20 volunteers are in Orlando to work with local hospitals and first responders, to help the devastated community at such a difficult time.
Speaking to the news outlet, Tim Hertzner, president of the LCC Comfort Dogs said:
“They help people relax and calm down.
“Your blood pressure goes down when you pet a dog, you feel more comfortable, and people end up talking. They’re good listeners, they’re non-judgmental, they’re confidential”.
