There’s been some clowning around with the Burger King Twitter account this afternoon, and it looks like it might be Ronald McDonald who’s responsible.
The official Burger King verified account, which boasts almost 85,000 followers, was this afternoon hacked by someone who claimed to be a representative of McDonalds.
In the past hour, the avatar on the account has been changed to the golden arches of Maccy D’s, and the info now reads:
“BURGER KING® USA official Twitter account. Just got sold to McDonalds because the whopper flopped =[ FREDOM IS FAILURE?.
http://mcdonalds.com In a hood near you”
The first tweet after the account was hacked read: “We just got sold to McDonalds! Look for McDonalds in a hood near you”, and many more have since followed, including some potentially offensive pictures and links to some very questionable music.
