If you’re looking for good pub grub, you best get set on the road to Cork because the home of the rebels has retained their place in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide.

Deasy’s Harbour Bar and Seafood Restaurant in Clonakilty has been listed in the guide that recognizes magnificent food, service and setting in pubs throughout England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Seven other eateries in the real capital of pub grub have held onto their place in the guide, while Dublin lags behind with just two mentions along with Clare, Galway, Kerry and Mayo who each have two Michelin star restaurants.

According to The Irish Times, JJ Gannons in Ballinrobe Co. Mayo was the only Irish pub not to be reinstated to the list in 2013.

Speaking to the paper, Rebecca Burr, editor of the guide said: “The standard of pub cooking just keeps getting better and better.

“Pubs are often the heartbeat of the local community and it’s been exciting to see that more and more of them are specialising in their own regional ingredients.”

Kildare, Leitrim, Louth Sligo, Tipperary, Westmeath and Wexford each have one pub on the list but a real foodie hub has appeared in County Down, which has six Michelin star pubs.
