They’re going to get some fright when they see the electricity bill in January.
Now that there’s only a few weeks to go until the big day, you’re going to come across all sorts of elaborate displays of Christmas lights on houses all across the country.
We’re pretty sure, however, that none of them, or at least the vast majority of them, would come close to matching a house in Dublin that’s so spectacularly lit up that you can even see it from space… a pretty decent height above.
The house in question is located on Bannow Road, Cabra West, Dublin 7 (number 321 to be precise) and belongs to Liam Whelan, who is over 70 years of his age and has been decorating his house in this fashion in preparation for the festive season for years.
His daughter Emma tells us that, although it’s only Liam and his wife still living in the house, he has 12 grandchildren and that Liam and his sons team up in an effort to go bigger and brighter every year. She also tells us that the neighbours don’t mind the display because they’re so used to it at this stage.
So spectacular is the display, in fact, that people come especially to visit the house every single year; we can’t imagine they’d need too many directions because you could spot it a mile off.
Know of a house with a display as spectacular, if not more so (good luck!), than this? Feel free to send in your entries via the usual channels below.
Thanks to Emma Whelan for sending this our way.
