As part of the First 1,000 Days movement, chef and dad, Neven Maguire will team up with Danone Baby Nutrition to host a series of free cooking demonstrations focusing on recipes that will help mums and mums-to-be during the early stages of their child’s life.
The movement is aimed to drive awareness of the importance of correct nutrition during the First 1,000 Days of a child’s life, from pregnancy to two years of age.
Good nutrition during this time offers parents a unique window of opportunity to secure the long term health and development of their baby.
The cookery demonstrations with Neven Maguire are free of charge and will take place on the following dates and further events are planned for 2014:
- Wednesday 18th September, The Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 at 11am
- Wednesday 2nd October, Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square, Galway at 11am
- Monday 11th November, The Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 at 7.30pm
Neven is the ambassador for the campaign and will demonstrate how to cook a diverse range of dishes.
“As a father with a young family, I’m very much aware of the importance of nutrition during the first 1,000 days” he said.
“From pregnancy right through to the toddler stage, it’s important that children are exposed to a wide range of foods so that their taste buds develop in a healthy way. I’d encourage everyone to come along to my demonstrations and discover just how easy it is to feed your family with the best and most nutritious foods – it really doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive!”
Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the First 1,000 Days recipe booklet at each of these events and it is free to register.
