But, we could see this one coming, the end of 2012 is coming upon us…

The million dollar question: If you could do anything at all before the end of the year, what would it be?

You’ll be shocked at what the Irish chose to do with their time…

Spontaneous getaways, splashing some cash and some secret affairs all made onto the Irish’s to-do list.

The emigration fever seems to be rubbing off us at home as, for the Irish, the most popular wish was to throw a dart at a map and be transported to that destination free of charge.

Spending unlimited money was a close second and living in 5-star luxury for the remainder of the year came in third position.

Ahhh, money!

We’ve never looked on ourselves as being romantics, and this could prove us right. The survey, carried out by lastminute.com, reported that the Irish share the top spot with our Spanish counterparts when it comes to delving into a quick, wild carefree love affair.

Well, we never!

But it’s not all selfish, secret affair-obsessed news, Ireland scores top in Europe when it comes to wanting to give money to charity. Out of our treasure chest of unlimited money, 35 per cent of Irish said they’d give a large amount of money to a charity of their choice.

So why didn’t us Irish throw caution to the wind and enjoy all these last minute moments in 2012? According to the survey, 24 per cent of people highlighted money as a reason why they didn’t make the most of their free time in 2012.
