With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, some women will be feeling a bit frustrated at the lack of love in their lives.

Many of us will be happy to celebrate this romantic day by having some quality ‘me’ time or treating ourselves to a night out with the platonic loves of our lives but if you don’t think it’ll be the same without a text or call from a boyfriend, we have the answer.

Invisible Boyfriend is an app that sends convincing text messages and voicemails from a virtual partner and was created to help people deal with social pressure to be part of a couple.

Anyone who has ever had a conversation with their mother about when they’re going to ‘settle down’ can empathise on this one and Invisible Boyfriend gives you proof that you do have a loving fella… without all the hassle that goes with it.

“Put simply, this platform helps you create credible, reasonable stories that you can bring home to curious mom, your buddies, and coworkers. These stories are backed by virtual and real-world social proof,” said a spokesperson for the company.

“We want to help those in want of a tailored, accessible boyfriend to avoid awkward social situations and questions.”

Invisible Boyfriend allows users to choose their partner from an “extensive library”, build a back story and carry out conversations through their phone.

The owners have said that there are also plans in place to add gifts, personalized notes, flower deliveries and social media connections to the service.

Users pay a monthly subscription fee for their Invisible Boyfriend and also have the option of gifting a boyfriend to their friends.

Invisible Boyfriend is only available in the US and Canada at present but organisations have said that they plan to expand in the near future.
