Delicious looking or a bit creepy, we’re not too sure. This life size replica of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was designed by cake designer Nadine Moon.
The cake features Middleton cradling the Royal Baby in her hands and looking down at it fondly.
“I think everyone loves Princess Kate’s story, it’s everyone’s fairy tale,” the US cake designer told ABCNews.com.
“I think she’s such an inspiration to so many brides, and we thought it was a neat thing to honor her and do a life-size tribute to her in cake and Rice Krispies Treats with the baby.”
The cake stands at 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs more than 200 pounds. It took a designer and a team of eight to put the cake together.
Moon and her team first created the framework for the cake with PVC piping and wood support. Kate’s torso made out of Rice Krispies.
Then, they built the cake princess out of dense butter pound cake topped with layers of vanilla and amaretto butter cream frosting. “She” was then covered in a white chocolate fondant.
“The baby is wrapped in a blanket, but you can see the little face peeking out,” said Moon. “There’s also a gold HRH monogram on the blanket.”
The cake took a week to build before it went on display today at the Bridal Extravaganza Show in Houston and they’ve reached out to Kensington Palace to see if the royal family would be interested in having the cake shipped to the UK.
“If Kensington Palace says yes, it will be shipped off to London,” Moon said. “I would need to go with it and assemble it there.”
