Choosing the right meal can often prove difficult when you’re standing in the queue of a busy fast food restaurant. Will you go for a burger, or chicken strips? Do you feel like barbeque or sweet chilli sauce? And would you like a slug with that?
We all love food freebees, but some unexpected items aren’t always pleasant, especially those that are still alive and slimy.
Manminber Singh found a surprising guest lurking inside his meal at the fast food chain in Darlington, Co. Durham.
Chicken burger with a free slug… a meal deal we’d all turn down.
The 37-year-old immediately alerted staff, “I was really shocked as I really love this burger and never had anything like this happen before,’”he said.
“The staff did not seem bothered and the manager just wanted to give me my money back… She said it was a problem with the chiller but I think it is because the place is not properly clean.”
“I want health and safety people to come and lock them down.”
Officials have said the slug arrived in a bag of pre-washed lettuce.
A Burger King UK Ltd spokesperson said that the global brand, “aim to provide the highest levels of food quality and service in all restaurants so that our customers have a great experience with us every time.”
“We are taking this situation very seriously and are conducting a full investigation. We greatly value customer feedback to ensure we get our service, restaurants and products right every time.”
