A US couple have offered to let corporate sponsors brand their wedding in return for paying the hefty $30,000 bill.

Courtney McKenzie and Jamil Newell have planned a $30,000 nuptials followed by a honeymoon in Thailand and are hoping to attracted some publicity-hungry businesses to foot the bill.

The pair have set up a site called SponsorMyWedding.com where companies are invited to purchase sponsorship across a number of levels, with benefits including having the company logo sewed on to the bride’s dress and groom’s tuxedo, company logo t-shirts to be worn on every day of the holidays, logo to be sewed on to the couple’s swimwear and the company name on the bride’s shoes.

The pair have said that after the cost of the wedding is covered, a sum will go to their favourite charities and invited businesspeople to “be part of our wedding with a cause. With your help, we can have the most memorable time of our lives and make a big difference in the lives of other less fortunate”.

“I thought, why not couple my two loves: my soon-to-be-husband Jamil and my love for marketing?” said McKenzie, who works as a digital entrepreneur.

Husband-to-be Newell added that “the marriage is what we make it” and denied that the business element would take away the romantic element of the day.

“It’s our relationship together. It’s the love we have for each other, and whether there’s a logo on a dress does not change that.”
