Bride finds emotional message from her dying mum on her wedding shoes

With less than a year until her wedding, a bride was surprised to find a message from her terminally ill mother who past away.

Emma, who preparing to get married, was feeling overcome with emotions when she received a box of wedding shoes to her door. Recalling the moment as being "in bits", Emma was taken back to see a secret message on the sole of her shoe from her mother that passed away. The 38-year-old's mother died sooner than hoped when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Writing letters to each member of her family, her mom didn't get a chance to write one for Emma and so, created a note to be given ahead of her wedding day. The note reads...

"Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you. ‘Hope you have a magical day. Lots and lots of love and big hugs, MUM xxxx"

Speaking to the BBC earlier this year, Emma said:

"It’s been so hard planning a wedding without having her with me, and I have had lots of tears."

Hopefully, those shoes made Emma feel her mom's presence and the fact she's with her every step of the way.
