Men and women say this is their biggest pet peeve on a date

Megan Roantree

Do you agree?

Going on a date can be awkward and nerve-wracking. You might be afraid that you wont have enough to talk about or that you’ll say something embarrassing. But none of those things are as bad as ignoring your date and taking out your phone.

A recent Match.com survey they asked over 5000 people about dating and their preferences.

Both men and women agree that the other person being on their phone during the date is a major turn off.

In fact, 70 per cent of men and 73 per cent of women said that this was the #1 worst thing the other person can do on a date.

It not only looks like you’re addicted to your device, you also come across as though you’re not interested, and it’s also rude.

Women’s second biggest grievance with a date is when they try too hard to impress her. It’s the 21st century, women don’t need to be rescued, men also listed this further down.

For men, they take issue with women who don’t talk enough, dating is a two way street and it takes two to have a conversation.

Women also don’t like when men talk about money on the first date.

So it’s simple really, put down your phone and don’t be a show off.
