There was major disappointment for Irish international soccer star Stephanie Roche as her hopes of living the American dream with Houston Dash came to an end on Wednesday evening.
The Puskas runner-up was let go by the American side after just three months with the club.
A statement from Houston Dash revealed the move was as a result of the signing of two international defenders – Australia’s Ellie Brush and Brazil’s Camila.
To make room on the roster, Dash have waived Stephanie Roche & placed Stephanie Ochs on the season-ending injury list.

Head coach at Houston Dash has been quoted by KeeperNotes.com as stating: “I really would have liked to have given her the time to be with us a season because I think she was getting better and better and adapting.
“Unfortunately, as I told her, as bad as we have been defensively, we had to make some moves,” he continued.
“Two internationals, and the international spots being so critical, we had to let somebody go.
“Unfortunately, it came down to her; we just didn’t have the time to wait on her. I just hope I don’t grow to regret it at the end, but we had to do it with somebody.”
Very disappointed to finish up with Houston Dash. Impossible to appreciate the highs without experiencing the lows #ToughDay
