If it’s a budget-friendly summer holiday you’re looking for this year, stop what you’re doing right now.

An online travel agency has revealed that flight prices from the North can be up to €140 cheaper per person than from Dublin, the Irish Independent reports.

Clickandgo.com said there has been an increase in Irish sun-seekers booking their flights from the North because of the purse-friendly prices.

The website compares a week’s holiday in Majorca departing on May 21st at €253 per person flying from Belfast compared to €393 if you fly from Dublin.

Both of those holidays involve Aer Lingus flights and the exact same apartment complex in Majorca.

The price difference in holidays is based on the lower flight price.

Clickandgo.com chief executive Paul Hackett told the Independent; “…the best rates were available to people travelling outside the school holiday months of July and August when fares climbed in both jurisdictions.”

Ahhh… close your eyes and imagine.

If you want to be even more cash-savvy, families with secondary school children in the Republic are advised to travel in June when school finishes up, as the North’s secondary school students are still in school at that time.

“It simply is a matter of supply and demand that’s driving these low prices,” said Mr Hackett.

“Holiday sales from the North are weak relative to those from the Republic, so airlines are offering fantastic value to get away through Belfast.
