Poor Batman. You’d think that people would actually appreciate his help, but apparently police in Michigan aren’t exactly thrilled that Batman has been interfering in their business.
In fact, the Dark Knight (also known as Mark Wayne Williams) was promptly arrested after he refused to leave the scene of a roadside accident while police tried to search for the missing driver.
Mark, who was dressed in his own homemade bat suit, wouldn’t get out of the way of the police officers and let them do their job.
“He wouldn’t clear the scene, and we had a canine out there and he kept screwing up the scent,” said Officer Jeff Gorno, speaking to the Petoskey News-Review.
“He said he wanted to help us look for the driver. We didn’t want the dog to track Batman instead of the accident scene, and he was getting in the way of officers who had a job to do,” Officer Gorno added.
This is the second time this year that 33-year-old Mark has been arrested trying to fight crime in his bat suit. Back in July, local police were alerted to reports of a man dressed in a cape and tights on the roof of a building in the city.
But it seems like fighting crime under the title of the Caped Crusader is starting to take its toll on poor Mr Williams. Recently he posted the following on his Facebook page:
“Sometimes I wished I didn’t care about people so much or that I lived in a bigger city so I could concentrate on criminal activity. Trying to help people on a personal level can be rewarding but it can also rip your heart out,” he wrote.
Mark Williams has been charged with obstructing the police in an investigation and will appear in court later this month. We wonder if he’ll show up in a suit and tie or if he’ll rock his bat suit all the way up to the dock?
Hey Christian, call us maybe?
We wonder if Christian Bale ever dons his bat suit and helps out the public in times of need? (Eh…if he does can someone please direct him to Her.ie Headquarters?)
