Baking Bank Holiday Weekend Ahead! Met Eireann Says We Can Expect Sunshine & High Temperatures

Make the most of this weekend because the rain will be back on Tuesday. Sigh.

Great news everybody! You can throw away your coats, ditch your umbrellas and fire up that barbeque, because this May Bank Holiday weekend is set to be pretty summery (yay!).

The Irish Independent reports that this long weekend will have above-average temperatures that will get progressively better as the days pass. So live it up, get some sun on your face and enjoy it (God only knows when we’ll this kind of weather again).

Today will start off with temperatures of between 5C and 6C, however during the afternoon, temperatures will rise to between 11C and 15C. This evening is also set to be fairly mild, with temperatures of between 7C and 9C expected.

Make the most of the nice weather because the rain will be back on Tuesday!

According to Met Eireann forecaster Harm Luijkx, the northwest will be the coolest area this weekend however inland counties and counties in the southeast of the country can expect high temperatures.

Most of the country will see a mixture of cloud and sunshine today, with dry conditions. The same conditions will stick around until tomorrows, although the temperatures will be rising steadily.

The good weather is expected to persist until Monday and while it will remain mild next week, rain is expected across the country on Tuesday (disappointing!).

Oh well, at least we’ll have a warm and dry Bank Holiday. Hey, we’ll take what we can get at this stage!
