Aye Papi! The Best Five Beaches Mexico Has to Offer…

Wouldn’t you just love to be there now?

Rebecca McKnight

If you’ve already had you tenth conversation about the rain so far today, chances are you’ve let your mind wander to a golden paradise abroad and dreamed of lazy days on the beach and hot nights in the club.

Mexico is the go-to luxury destination for many of Hollywood’s hottest stars, and with good reason. It might be a little bit beyond your paycheck at the moment, but that’s where our pals at Corona step in.

The good folks at Corona want you to Break Your Routine, so they could be sending you on an incredible journey to a luxury Mexican resort, the stunning Riviera Maya. You’ll fly away from rainy Dublin, and land in sunny Cancun, then spend 7 nights in the incredible 5* resort. To celebrate this incredible giveaway, we’re taking a closer look at magical Mexico over the coming weeks on Her.ie, and first up is five beaches you must see when you visit…

1. ACAPULCO

Admit it, you’re already singing ‘Going Loco Down in Acapulco’. The hottest spot for the starlets of 1950’s Hollywood, this was once a go-to holiday destination for legends like Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and JFK. Made immortal in the kitsch TV series ‘The Love Boat’, Acapulco has lost it’s place as the most popular beach in Mexico in the intervening years, but it’s still a hugely popular resort area and the nightlife in the port city is something very special indeed, something to look forward to after a day on the beautiful beach.

2. TULUM

Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, you’ll find Tulum right in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Luxury travellers adore this spot on Mexico’s east coast. Incredible Mayan ruins against the Caribbean Sea are a sight for sore eyes, and if you’re looking for a more relaxed Mexican destination than the Spring Break style hotspots, this one is perfect.

3. PUERTO VALLARTA

Also known as “Vallarta” or just “PV”, Puerto Vallarta gives you the best of both worlds, an intimate destination feel, but one of the most spectacular oceanfronts in all of Mexico. This West Coast town’s choice location on the picturesque Bahia de Banderas will make for some very pretty holiday snaps, and when you’re done on the sand for the day you can check out one of the towns many amazing eateries.

4. CABO SAN LUCAS

Beloved of George Clooney, Jennifer Anniston and countless other celebs, Cabo San Lucas boasts world-class resorts where you’d be well-advised to stay eagle-eyed for Hollywood’s finest! Located on the southernmost tip of Baja California Sur, spend time whale watching, sport fishing, and golfing while you’re by the shore, then enjoy a cool beer in one of the many beach-front bars at day’s end.

5. CANCUN

If you’re a party animal, we’ve saved the best for last. This barrier island in southeastern Mexico is one of the most popular destinations in the world for all-inclusive luxury breaks, and the beaches are to die for. Pan out and read the latest bestseller, or get active and chance your arm at jet-skiing and parasailing. By night, hit the tiles in the style of countless Spring Breakers, then snooze off the excesses of the night before on the sands, and repeat! Bliss…
