Last Christmas, we excitedly waited for the postman to arrive with our spanking new Kindle direct from Amazon but we were foolish because a new budget e-reader is set to blow the expensive device off the shelves.
Christened ‘The Beagle’, the new e-reader has been produced by technology company Txtr and comes in a range of colours including jade, grapefruit, purple and turquoise.
If the Kindle is too complicated for you, ‘The Beagle ‘is the perfect alternative with just four buttons and an on-off switch.
It is not much bigger than a smartphone and can easily fit into your pocket.
The Beagle has become the Kindle’s greatest competitor
According to The Mirror, a spokesperson said: “The Txtr Beagle is designed to do what e-readers are intended for – reading digital books.”
The device runs on AAA batteries and weighs just 128 grams – which is less than a packet of crisps and holds five books at any one time.
Although the German e-reader lacks 3G and Wi-Fi like its competitor it is an incredible €73 cheaper.
The firm said that ‘The Beagle’ is “for everyone who wants an easy-to-use, stylish, light device with excellent display performance for reading.”
Will The Beagle be on your Christmas wishlist? We think it’s a steal.
