Sometimes there’s just no better way to tell a story than by using a GIF and Twitter has finally realised this.
The social network confirmed this evening that it will display animated GIFs on its desktop and mobile platforms for iOS and Android from now on.
Users had previously be able to use GIFs on Twitter by utilising third-party software but the files can now be uploaded directly to an individual’s account. The clips will not begin automatically and will instead have to be clicked by the viewer to be played on their timeline.
