Remember when we told you about the crazy student trend known as ‘milking’? Well it seems as though another group of students have gone one step further. Are you ready for ‘porting’?
Yes, you might want to put that litre of milk back in your fridge because now it’s all about porting. What is porting, you ask? Well, like milking, it involves pouring something over yourself. Only this time you use a fine port instead of some moo moo juice.
Porting emerged on the internet when students at Durham University filmed a YouTube clip of themselves dressed in suits and pouring bottles of port over their heads (ruining their white shirts).
Fed up with the lacklustre thrill of milking, the Durham students taunted the undergraduates at Newcastle University (the inventers of the milking craze) by saying:
“We figure if you’re going to do something you might as well do it properly. Don’t cry over split milk Newcastle – do it the Durham way #porting Durham.”
Right then, we have to ask: would you be a milker or a porter?
