Last week we called on our readers to get involved in Electric Ireland’s Powering Kindness Week to help raise money for The Marie Keating Foundation. For the past seven days we have sat back and watched as people all over Ireland got in touch with us about their acts of kindness, and we have been absolutely blown away by the incredible response!
We’re delighted to announce that because of your acts of kindness The Marie Keating Foundation will receive a whopping €40,000 from Electric Ireland! This substantial donation will go a long way in helping the incredible work the charity does for tens of thousands of people around the country. The foundation works tirelessly through the year to provide mobile information units, support services and more to cancer patients all over the country. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the amount of money raised for this fantastic cause that touches so many lives in Ireland.
A further €30 will be donated to The Irish Heart Foundation, and finally, ISPCC Childline will get winning amount of €60,000. These significant contributions will make the world of difference to these three great causes in 2015, and we couldn’t be happier with this result.
From young people taking the time to visit to visit their elderly neighbours to others donating their clothes to local charities, it’s been a delight to see all of the acts of kindness being done cross the country. You can check out some of our favourite acts of kindness below:
