An Irish grandad is advertising to find a wife for his grandson in a very special way

Is this where we're going wrong?

If only we all had a grandad who cared about us as much…

Being single can be tough.

Between going to weddings on your own, spending Valentine’s Day with your cat (again) or wanting to go to the cinema but there’s no one around, there are a lot of things in life that are instantly better when there’s two people instead of one.

It’s only getting harder to meet someone special these days as many people using dating apps are either getting cancelled on or being subjected to awful abuse, so people taking the traditional approaches in finding love may be better off.

One man who has taken a very traditional approach to finding a wife for his young grandson is an Irish grandad.

The 89-year-old grandad took out an advert in family magazine Ireland’s Own to look for a lovely lady to light up his grandson’s life.

The ad, entitled ‘Sydney Calling’ describes the young bachelor in great detail, and it is a joy to read. The grandad even goes to the trouble of mentioning his age in a bid to find a woman for his grandson.

“My grandson is 25-years-old, handsome clever, good sense of humour, works (European/Irish/UK), wife wanted for him with photo.

“Must be moral, loving, kind, want large family, love, happiness, [I] want him settled. I’m now 89 years.”

People didn’t hold back in expressing their love for the grandad’s eagerness to find his grandson a wife.
