Amsterdam District Celebrating 400 Years by Selling Bottled Canal Water

This would definitely be seen as a more unusual gift! Limited bottles of canal water from Amsterdam are being marketed in honour of the city’s most famous canal ring district. Each bottle contains water from one of four different canals, the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht or Prinsengracht. The labels on the back of the bottles describe the canal and where the water was sourced. The idea and creation for the bottle was designed by Iris Worldwide and the limited edition will set you back €50. “The project was inspired by the 400-year anniversary of the canals,” said Glenn Doherty, Art Director and Designer from Iris’ Amsterdam office. The entire canal district made it onto the UNESCO World Heritage List three years ago. Image via Iris
