We’re the first to become enthralled by those quick and easy Facebook videos that promise gourmet food in 2.5 easy steps. Food hacks, when done right, are lifesavers. When done wrong, it appears they are life threatening.
Pensioner Suzanne Dale from Manchester saw a video tutorial to make a simple cheese toasty by placing a toaster on its side. She thought she’d give it a try. She followed the video instructions and placed a slice of cheese on sliced bread and allowed it to sit inside the upturned toaster.
Minutes later Suzanne noticed smoke billowing from the appliance. Within seconds the whole thing was up in flames. Suzanne took to Facebook to warn others about misuse of appliances.
The entertainment promoter said; “I just thought “oh I’ll try that”. I don’t know why, I have griddles and everything to make cheese on toast.
“I thought it might be a faster way of making cheese on toast.”
DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME… !!! …Saw a tip on FB about turning your toaster on it’s side for toasted cheese…..thought…
