A Meal & A Movie: All You Need For A Spanish Night In

In recent years Spanish food has had a huge impact on restaurants in Ireland but going out for tapas every night isn’t feasible.

So that is why we are bringing a taste of Spain to you and your home with a delicious Spanish-inspired recipe as well as a classic film. 

                                      

Meal – Paella

Ingredients (serves 2): A cup of rice, 2-3 sliced chicken breasts, 2 red peppers (seeded and sliced), 2 tomatoes (skinned, seeded and chopped), 1 large onion (sliced), 1 garlic clove (crushed), 1 tsp tumeric, chicken stock, salt and pepper.

Method: Heat a spoonful of olive oil in a pan. Brown the chicken before adding the garlic, onion and spices. Add in the rice and stock. Bring to the boil and season to taste.

Cook on a medium heat for 15 minutes. Add the tomatoes and pepper. Cook for a further 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the stock.

Movie – Y Tu Mamá También

Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna star in this coming-of-age film about two friends who embark on a passion-filled road trip with a woman they have just met.

As well as providing an insight into Mexican life and culture, this 2001 hit (directed by Alfonso Cuarón) explores the themes of love, poverty and friendship.
