Sunday 15th June marked Father’s Day 2014 and while it was a happy occasion for many people, for those who have lost a Dad it’s not an easy time.
As part of Father’s Day, eight-year-old Gino Valentine went to visit his father Daryl’s grave. Accompanied by his mother Gayle, the little boy left a card for his dad but also found one with his own name on it.
Unknown to her son, Gayle wrote the note pretending it was from Daryl who died in 2010. She filmed Gino finding the letter and then shared the video on Facebook to show family and help others in the same situation.
Gino read the entire letter aloud and told his mother he was bringing it home. He later broke down in tears according to a second post on his mother’s Facebook page.
