We have all had that experience where we have had a cup of tea, maybe a couple of Jaffa Cakes and then decided to devour the whole box. Haven’t you wished that McVitie’s would just make one massive Jaffa Cake that you could feast on happily?
Well, the cake company have heard our prayers. This week McVitie’s are releasing Jaffa Cakes, The Big One into stores in UK stores Asda and Morrison’s, according to the Digital Spy.
A spokesman for McVitie’s commented: “We have been experimenting and tweaking the Big One recipe for a number of years now. We think that we have now got the perfect balance of orange, sponge and chocolate and think that this cake will create the same debate as the smaller version about which is the best way to eat it.”
Layers of spongey orangey goodness…
Jaffa Cakes have been on sale since, astonishingly, 1927 but this is the first time they have produced a full size cake. The spokesman continued: “We needed to ensure the sensation of eating the larger Jaffa Cake is similar to the smaller Jaffa Cake so all of our more hardcore fans will enjoy it as much as new Jaffa fans.”
The cake is retailing at just £7. That might actually be the best seven pounds you will ever spend…
If there is anyone heading to the UK in the next couple of days, we wouldn’t mind a taster. Just for experimental purposes of course…
