A Close Call: Man’s Life Saved After Mobile Phone In Shirt Pocket Stops Thief’s Bullet

Who needs a bulletproof vest when you’ve got a HTC mobile phone.

A shop assistant in Florida has his mobile phone to thank for being alive after the device prevented a thief’s bullet from piercing his chest.

Sky News reports that the attempted robbery, which took place Monday afternoon, turned nasty after shop assistants were unable to open up the safe at a busy petrol station in Orlando.

Frustrated, the robber then fired a round of bullets at the clerks before fleeing the scene.

This image shows how a bullet was stopped in it’s tracks by the mobile phone that was sitting in the man’s shirt pocket.

Talk about a close call…
