We don’t know what to make of this at all at all.
Amazon has stunned fans around the world this week by opening their first ever physical bookstore.
The online giant, who has been selling books on the internet for almost two decades, has opened ‘Amazon Books’ in Seattle this week, and it has come as a bit of a shock to book lovers everywhere.
The brand new bookshop stocks almost 6,000 books which have been chosen on the basis of reviews and sales online.
Prices match their website, while there will also be handy book reviews alongside the books for customers to browse.
If it proves to be a success, it is rumoured that Amazon may open more physical book stores.
“Amazon Books is a physical extension of Amazon.com,” said vice president Jennifer Cast.
“We’ve applied 20 years of online bookselling experience to build a store that integrates the benefits of offline and online book shopping.
“The books in our store are selected based on Amazon.com customer ratings, pre-orders, sales, popularity on Goodreads and our curators’ assessments.”
We can’t wait to see if this will be the start of a whole new extension of Amazon.
