A 72-Year-Old Lost His Phone In Kilkenny… What Happened Next Was Pretty Incredible

There’s kindness and then there’s those who will go that extra mile for a good deed. The story of 72-year-old Eugene O’Leary certainly put a smile on our face this week and not least because he’s off doing a buggy push from Dublin to Cork all in the name of charity. Eugene dropped his phone outside Co. Kilkenny on Monday of this week where it was found by some pretty legendary locals who kicked off an epic search to find him. Click image to enlarge.  Taking to his Facebook page they wrote: “Hi guys, this is not Eugene, he lost his phone outside Gowran, Co. Kilkenny while on his charity walk!! “We would love to return his phone to him but we cannot locate him. Does any of his friends of family know what route he was taking so we could track him down [sic].” Click on image to enlarge. Friends and family immediately got on the case and praised the people who were going out of their way to help Eugene. The search took them all through Kilkenny and eventually they managed to reunite Eugene with his phone in Ballyhale – and even bagged a selfie with him. Click on image to enlarge. What legends!
